PERIDUR can enhance the level of iron in your DRI/HBI by as much as 0.7%, and provides for improvements in:

  •         Flux consumption
  •         Energy consumption
  •         Slag handling and disposal costs

Akzo Nobel has developed an Interactive Model which can estimate the cost savings PERIDUR will generate EAFs when it is substituted for bentonite in agglomeration process.

Akzo Nobel is at the forefront of advanced colloid and surface chemistry. We therefore have been able to develop a range of chemicals for upgrading ores and concentrates in mining operations.

Cellulosic Specialties produces the following carboxymethyl cellulose products for  mining applications:

DEPRAMIN® -  an extremely effective reagent used as a depressant for talc, clay and carbon species in flotation circuits. DEPRAMIN allows for a cost-effective means to improve separation of gangue and precious metals.


PERIDUR® - in iron ore processing. PERIDUR has been proven to be an effective and cost-efficient agglomeration aid. PERIDUR is an organic binder and has considerable advantages over inorganic binders like bentonite because of its non-contaminating nature. PERIDUR creates iron ore pellets containing less gangue minerals, which can positively affect the costs of steel-making processes.

The way we work

Partnership is the basis of added value. Our approach to the mining industry is three-fold:


 
Ore testing:
Your ore samples are tested in our flotation laboratory in Sweden and our pelletization laboratory in Arnhem. We also cooperate with other mining labs all over the world. Testing can vary from micro-testing to bench-scale testing.
 

 


 
Research:
Based on the results of the ore testing, we optimize and modify our products in order to improve the performance of your operations.
 

 


 
On-site testing:

This is by definition a close cooperation with the customers. Pilot-plant testing can be an intermediate step.
