BERMOCOLL retains water, delays rapid escape of water in absorbent substrates, controls consistency and increases adhesion in cement, gypsum, latex-based mortars and other building products. The result is excellent consistency, better adhesion and strength, easy workability, extended open time, uniform setting and hardening.
The amount of BERMOCOLL needed for the degree of water retention required depends on viscosity levels, particle size distribution and layer thickness, but typically varies between 0.1 and 0.8 percent.
BERMOCOLL is produced in a number of different viscosity grades. To fulfill the solubility requirements of varying applications, the grades are available in several particle sizes: powder, fine powder and extra-fine powder. It can also be supplied to meet individual needs and specifications. |

BERMOCOLL CCA -
provides higher yield, improved cohesion and less sagging
Modified CCA grades in general have a higher water demand, thereby giving greater bulk to the wet mortar and ultimately greater coverage. They also improve cohesion and reduce slip and sagging of plasters and mortars in, for example, the vertical setting of tiles.
BERMOCOLL M – provides more workability with more strength
BERMOCOLL M is unique and specially developed for cement-based tile adhesives and gives extraordinary properties to the mortar. It provides the best balance between workability and strength in tile adhesives. Although specially developed for cement-based tile and mosaic adhesives, BERMOCOLL M is also suitable for applications such as manually applied plasters, skim coats and joint compounds.

BERMOCOLL M is a Methyl Ethyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MEHEC), the only one of its kind on the market today. The number of methyl groups corresponds closely to those found on MHPC or MHEC grades currently available. Additionally, a low amount of ethyl substitution is present on the molecule. It is possible to vary hydrophobicity by altering the ratio of methyl and ethyl substituents in combination with hydrophilic hydroxyethyl substituents. This unique property makes it possible to design products ideally suited for tile adhesives as well as for other applications where good workability and high strength are needed. A range of modified BERMOCOLL M grades is planned. |
