DEPRAMIN is an extremely effective reagent used as a depressant for talc, clay and carbon species in flotation circuits. DEPRAMIN allows a cost-effective way to improve separation of gangue and precious metals.
What is DEPRAMIN?
DEPRAMIN is the trademark for a series of water-soluble polymers especially developed for application in mineral froth flotation. The principal raw material for DEPRAMIN is cellulose, a polysaccharide in which repeating anhydroglucose units are 1,4 ß-linked. Various types of DEPRAMIN have found general acceptance in the flotation of potash and sulfide ores.
What ores can be treated?
DEPRAMIN products are being applied successfully in the flotation of:
- pentlandite (nickel ore),
- copper, lead and zinc sulfides,
- molybdenite,
- wolframite/scheelite,
- precious metals (gold, platinum group metals),
- potash and lithium.
An introduction to selective depressants will be available shortly.
