 in Pelletization

PERIDUR® is a commercially proven organic binder developed by AkzoNobel for the agglomeration of iron ore pellets. It is a long chain poly-electrolyte based on cellulose that has polar avid groups substituted along the cellulose molecule. The polar avid groups are responsible for immobilizing large quantities of water during the pelletizing process, resulting in uniformly sized green pellets with high resilient strength.

PERIDUR provides all of the desired characteristics expected of a good binder and has proven itself on a wide variety of ore types from around the globe. Organic in nature, PERIDUR burns away during the pellet induration process and therefore does not contaminate the pellet with gangue or siliceous materials.  Its products of combustion consist of carbon dioxide and water vapor and contain no elements like sulfur or phosphorus that would be detrimental to the quality of the steel.
